Covid19 Update

I have recently found out Demesne farm camp site at Bellingham has just opened for camping but any bookings must be competed on line and paid in full and no day visitors are allowed. The site has introduced new rules which are part of the booking in procedure. Highlanning farm at Dent has been open all the time since we were at the site in March but I have not be able to speak to them and have had no reply to my email from early July. I Don,t know if anybody turned up in July for our camp. When we start to have our section meetings again I am hoping to keep to our list from the beginning of the year but this could be subject to change so please contact me for up to date information. if you are planning to attend.

HELP PLEASE . LOTS OF BIKES AVAILABLE

HELP PLEASE . LOTS OF BIKES AVAILABLE

As many people know, the MZ Riders Club has inherited Mike the Bike’s bikes. All the non-MZ related stuff (BMW, Honda and a lot of miscellaneous unidentified parts) has gone and we will shortly be listing all the MZ stuff or at least a great proportion of it, for sale on eBay.

We have been lucky to acquire a couple of months storage of what amounted to a dozen or so bikes, dozens of wheels and spares (In fact, 4 Mercedes Sprinter long wheelbase vans full) for a relatively nominal sum.

We had intended to put this in the magazine for the members so that those without the benefit of the Internet could know what’s available and make an offer.

However we had been waiting since the beginning of the year for probate and when the solicitors advised us that the bikes were ready for collection (in a very narrow time window I might add) the magazine has just gone to print this.

As it would clearly be two months before the next magazine, that would be two months storage for which we would have to pay a substantial amount extra. We did toy with the idea of sending out a separate newsletter to all the members but that would have cost almost £1000 with printing and postage and to do so for the few members who don’t have access to the Internet, didn’t make logistical sense.

We need your help.

Help Number 1

Can you please contact as many people who you know in the club, who do not have Internet access and tell them that these bikes and spares will shortly be going for sale on eBay (within the next week or so) and that if they want to look at them and make an offer, they will need to find someone with access to a computer.

To give you an idea of what we have here, there are 7 bikes in various states, all nonrunners, one of which (TS125/150) has been extensively powder coated and chromed but for which there is no engine, five frames some with swinging arms, three of which have been powder coated. About 20 wheels or so, (3 or four of which have been rebuilt with chrome spokes) a dozen tyres (some of which are new).

Apart from the above, the bikes are all non-runners and have suffered from storage and not all have keys but they are:

ETZ251 with the front forks and some parts of instruments and controls removed but the front forks are present.

TS150 which looks complete apart from the toolbox cover

Saxon 251 fun which looks complete

TS250 Wilf Green special with legshields. Not done a lot of miles, about 4000 from memory. I can’t guarantee that.

TS250 which looks complete.

ETS250 Trophy Sport which needs a total rebuild but looks complete apart from the rear light cover.

Saxon 251 with forks removed but the forks are there.

There are boxes and boxes of parts, speedos, indicators, new parts, all parts, regulators, generators et cetera et cetera.

The next thing I need help with :-

Help Number 2:

We need to go through all the boxes and puts everything into some semblance of order and decide which parts go with which bike so that we can then list them on eBay.

I propose therefore that a week tomorrow, Saturday the 29th, from 11am until probably 2 o’clock I will be at the unit in Flint, postcode CH6, where all this is stored.

If you could put your overalls on and a pair of gloves (to keep your pinkies clean!) and pop along to assist in sorting this out, it would be really appreciated.

I promise, it’s an eye-opener (and half of the bulk has gone already!).

Please PM me for address or get hold of me through the address in MZ Rider magazine

Saxon 500R owners handbook anyone

Does anybody have a owners handbook for a Saxon 500R? I’ve just picked up a 500R in need of TLC and while I can muddle through with a Haynes ETZ manual and a Rotax engine manual there are things specific to the 500R I need to know. I can copy one if anyone has one loan.

Carrog Winter Camp & Section AGM – 6th – 8th Nov 2015

6-7 November
North Wales and Cheshire Section
Carrog Winter Rally & Camp.

This is completely different than the summer camp at the same location as there is no raffle, no rideout, but just good beer, good pubs, good food, good bikes and good company. Don’t forget your hot water bottle!
We combine this event with the section AGM which takes place in the Grouse Inn, 10 minutes walk away, at 1230 on the Sunday. Everyone is welcome to join us. Usually, our section AGM lasts a minute or sometimes, if we are voting on something, 2 minutes. All Eastern Block members and enthusiasts welcome. Further details from section rep Tim Miller or Sandy Morgan or James Mather (contact details in the front section of the magazine)
