Well my daughter is loving the TS125 . So far so good and she’s got the knack of kicking it over etc. The one thing she is struggling with is the slow flash of the indicators.
It hasn’t failed an MOT but that has more to do with the guy looking amused when it comes in and not really knowing what to do !
So do they just flash slow and if so is there a relay upgrade which is 6 volt.

My ts250/1 has been layed up for some months. The clutch will not disengage.plates sticking? How can I get the clutch working without stripping. It down?

Thinking of fitting a Power Dynamo / Vape 12volt generator and electronic ignition unit on my 1996 301 MZ. I have been having a number of charging problems lately and as my bike has done getting on for 150,000 miles now maybe the original generator system is getting a bit worn out. I would appreciate any advice about this idea, good or bad.

Hi everybody. I’m a new member and this is my first post here.
I bought my MZ about 6 years ago. A rather sad specimen off ebay that someone had brought over from Poland I think. I got someone to weld up the cracked kickstart shaft boss and I bought a new crankshaft, piston, bearings and seals from Ost2rad. I started putting it back together in earnest recently, but all is not going to plan.
The crankshaft is not turning easily and I think it has to be the seals. I was sure I’d fitted them flush with the inner faces of the crankcases, but I’m not so sure now. Is there minimal clearance between the crankshaft and seals? What else could I check?
Suggestions welcome.

Could anyone tell me if the gear lever spline on the ETZ 250 is the same as that on the ETZ 150? I am making some rearsets for my ETZ 250 and think that a straight gear lever would be a better starting point than the cranked 250 one – but only if it fits the splined shaft of the larger engine.
I am sure that someone will know.

Hello folks, has anybody fitted heated grips to a 500R or ETZ? (Same twist grip) if so how did you get over the problem of the twist grip inner steel sleeve being 28mm OD which is bigger than most other bikes on the planet and of course means the stiff heated grip with a 26mm ID can’t be slid into the twist grip sleeve. I could of course get a universal fit twist grip but they all take a barrel style cable end nipple whereas the MZ cable has a small ball type nipple, I could then either buy a different cable or butcher my own but I can’t help thinking there must be an easier way. Any suggestions appreciated.

I found this in my garage and wondered if anyone knows what it is?
It’s made of a ‘biscuit-coloured’ metal, and is about 4cm across.
In the last year I have sold steering dampers for both TS and ES 250 models, and suspect it belongs to one of them?
My newly rebuilt super five engine is making an annoying sound from the clutch . I think after investigation it may be end float of the clutch driver. The manual says use a dial guage which I do not have. Anyone know a way to get this right? The clutch operates as it should, just noisey.

Last night I received a phone call from Dorothy Thomas, the wife of Douglas Thomas, to say that Douglas had died quite suddenly a few days ago. Douglas was a club member from St Annes near Blackpool and regulary attended the meetings at Leyland. The funeral details are as follows, the service will take place at Lytham crematorium on the 27th June at 12 oclock. Can you help please? I’m having trouble wiring my ts250/1. I have fitted a mz-b Dyno kit but will not be using indicators and just a Speedo in the headlamp. Anyone know where I can get a good easy to read colour diagram please?

I have a badge that I bought a few years back. It’s an mz badge with a skull and the inscription, sons of zschopau, mz, hearts chapter. Anyone recognise it? I would love to know the story behind it.
I have a stuck swing arm spindle. Anyone know a way of removing it without damaging it?
Friends at Newark, Notts Photographic Club are seeking someone with a Trike for a photo shoot, on a date & location (near Newark) to be decided. Some expenses are paid (not a lot!) but you can get some nice photos of your Trike with & without the model which they provide.

Just heard via Truprint that Del Lea finally succumbed to his illness on Saturday 4th June with his family around him. He was a much liked and respected member of the club and lifted the magazine to new heights during his period as editor. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him and was saddened when he had to resign due to illness. He will be much missed.
