    Thanks Rob, that worked, stanchion removed as you advised, and old seal carefully levered out with a screwdriver. Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for your replies guys, much appreciated. I wonder if anyone can recommend any one that could carry out this kind of engine work?

    Thank you Rob, this is rather what I feared. It is a ts2550/1 from 1980. I don’t think I have the confidence or experience for this level of engine work, so I wonder if anyone here can suggest or recommend anyone who undertakes this type of work? Many thanks
