No Spark Advice Please

20180611_153829 20180611_153834I have a 1993 MZ ETZ 301 (electronic ignition) that normally starts first time until last week. I have discovered that when I turn the ignition on or off, I get a spark at the plug. When I kick the engine over, nothing. No plug spark. This tends to show the HT lead, plug cap, spark plug is all working. Wiring is all connected up. I suspect maybe a coil problem? Anybody experienced a similar problem? advice would be welcome.

Thanks

Paul

Sorry. Bad News. Kevin Salt

Hello All,

It is with sadness I announce that Kevin Salt has recently deceased on the 5th October 2016. His funeral is at 12.30pm on Wednesday 2nd November at Harwood Park Crematorium near Knebworth, Hertfordshire.

Many of you will have known Kevin over the years. (KGS Motorcycles). He was always helpful and approachable with everything MZ. Living in Stevenage, I used to visit him regularly. He moved to March recently. I will miss him.

I saw his obituary in my local paper and contacted the family to confirm the bad news. He was 58 years old and had a brief illness caused through a leg infection. Very sad. I saw him after the Red Star Rally and at the AGM Market Harborough. He said he wasn’t feeling well on both those occassions.

It is early days yet, but maybe as a club we could sort something out?

Ace Cafe – Red Oktober 2013

Hi all,

Went to the ‘Red Oktober’ meet yesterday (20/10/13) at the Ace Cafe, London, for Eastern Bloc bikes, and was disappointed to see only one other MZ, (apart from mine). There was a few Jawas, and a Ural outfit. With hindsight I should have done a post, but I only found out about this event at short notice.

This is an annual October event, which I think we should support. I have checked Ace cafe events but they do not seem to have posted 2014 events yet. I will keep a look-out and post for 2014, when it appears. Perhaps it could be put into the ‘Events’ page, and with some planning MZRC could supportĀ a better turn out next year.
