I have researched this topic last year and apparently there is only one company worth trying, I will look for their details tomorrow. Generally I came to conclusion that it’s much cheaper to get a good second hand pair instead.
Keep in mind that most of MZ forks are bent from years of use.
A M Philpot in Luton, Bedfordshire offer this service however the cost is around £180.00 per pair of fork stanchions which is possibly more than a purchasing a new pair.
There are several firms offering such a service. I searched for ‘Motorcycle fork tube re-chroming’ and up they come.
I had a pair of stanchions re-chromed years ago for the Yam 175. That mention of Philpots rang a bell – it was with them. £80, but over 25yrs ago. Did a good job.
Hi, thanks for getting back. Very helpful. I posted here to see if anyone had a special tip. In the end I’ve bought some new ones from Germany which on initial. inspection look very good and at approx. £60 each are very good value. Only took 1 week to arrive too! Just hope the sliders aren’t too worn…any hints and tips…?
