Just some thoughts on what colours to paint the project. I rather like the colour scheme of the works MZ 250 racer from the 1960s as ridden in GPs by the likes of Ernst Degner, Alan Shepherd and Derek Woodman. Primarily all silver with a dark green ‘patch’ on either side of the petrol tank. A friend in Germany is contacting an MZ restorer to obtain the exact RAL colour code for the dark green.
I plan to fit plastic enduro/trials mudguards in silver to replace the steel originals. With a 21″ front tyre, the front one wouldn’t have fitted anyway.
I don’t plan to commence the build until about August when I return from my solo Round-the-Baltic bike ride on my Beemer.
