    Hi Brian,

Thanks for the posts, yes that was my original plan but I discovered this company who supply the BMW 650 starter for £115 that is why I was making enquiries. There is a place I have been recommended for rewinds etc in Uxbridge but I understand one of the partners has past away, we will have to see.

    Hi Brian,

Thanks for all the information ,its all been very useful. I have studied the 650 motor and it operates on the opposite side to the 500 but to overcome the need to spin the motor in the correct direction it has an extra idler gear which does the trick, I will see what Diesel Dave has to offer as you never know!
Thanks again I will keep you up dated as and when, It may be some times though.
My Mrs used a Kymco scooter for a number of years and the build quality was superb, it was a copy of a Honda being as Kymco was originally a Honda factory and I remember a dealer in Tooting insisting they they were better built than the Honda equivalent and I’m pretty sure he was right especially after experiencing her previous scooter which was a Honda.

    Hi There,

I always use Wellseal which you apply with a paint brush. http://www.wellseal.co.uk/ is the website but I think you have to get it on ebay as unless you want a million gallons of it the company don’t supply it but I suppose its worth a call.Good luck!
