MemberRe Petrol tank I would recommend POR 15 (the kit) it comes with an acid etch which neutralises the left over rust and a cleaning agent (rather like alloy wheel cleaner) cost £40 but you will have a robust clean tank afterwards that will take modern ethanol fuel without any problems to the coating.. I have done 3 tanks without any problems. If you are organised the prep and the POR 15 can be used in a couple of tanks if you get the 485 ml can of the stuff. I have a running TS250 with 20,000 on the clock. Re gearbox I find the SAE70/90 oil silky smooth. Many years ago I had the same problem with 3rd gear. Maybe earlier models had a weakness in the selection dog as I had to replace mine several times (just a thought) GOOD LUCK

MemberHi paul, looking in my Haynes manual it shows the rear brake switch wire connecting to terminal 8 on a wiring block attached to the frame, I would guess this terminal block is under the seat. The block has eight connectors on it so should be easy to find, I’m only going on what I’ve looked up as my Kanuni brake switch attaches to the brake rod near the battery. Hope this helps cheers Steve.

MemberHi This is the order Bearing then plate then first circlips. Then oil seal with spring facing towards the bearing then lastly a circlips which could be the same flat type as the inner or a round one dependent upon the crankcase number (complicated in Know) but depends if and early one or later one…. Phil Speakman will advise good luck Stuart

MemberHi Adam no experience with brake shoes you show link to, but are you sure its shoes that are your problem ? It may well be that your brake drums need to be skimmed.Just finished restoration of 1969 ETS 250 and had my drums skimmed,i use EBC brake shoes and Venhill cable and brakes are very , very good, who needs a disc ? Brake drums can be distorted by over tensioning of spokes and rust spots can occur if bike standing for long periods of time . Drums can become glazed over time and these bikes are now 40 years old, its certainly worth considering because no brake shoes will work any good if that is the problem. Any decent machine shop should be able to do it. Hope this is of help. Keith.
