MZ 251 /301 Front Brake Caliper

How do I tell the difference between an MZ, Brembo and Grimeca caliper. My ETZ is a 1996 Kanuni and I want to overhaul the caliper and fit new seals but need to know what caliper is fitted as i don’t know if it has been changed in the past. I understand that different seals are used in the different calipers. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I’ve just rebuilt the caliper on my ’95 ETZ251, Kanuni built bike. It has ‘MZ’ cast into the outside and Grimeca cast into the inner surface of the caliper, not visible until it’s off the bike. The safest way I found to identify the manufacturer was to accurately check the diameter of the pistons – the MZ Shop gives details of the piston diameter of each type, so you can be confident of ordering the correct parts.
