Hi Rob, Thank you. Thats what i thought. The gear box oil was low and dirty when i changed it and although i measured out the recommended oil volume in the Haynes manual it didnt seem to run out of the level check hole, even when i added a little bit more. I resisted the temptation to put more in and rode it instead- the gear change was much smoother and clutch less (bit still a bit) dragging when cold but after a good run, oil was visibly seeping out from behind the shaft though once the bike had cooled, the seepage seemed to stop. I am tempted to just keep using for now and top up as required and deal with it when it comes off the rode this winter. Any other thoughts gratefully received!
