The YorKshire section camp this weekend IS NO LONGER AT TAKODA. IT IS NOW AT HOWATH FARM CAMPSITE, SKYREHOLME APPLETREEWICK BD23 6DE WHICH IS LOCATED THREE QUARTERS OF A MILE OUTSIDE APPLETREEWICK, AND IS NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE OTHER CAMPSITE CLOSE TO THE CENTRE OF APPLETREEWICK.

IT IS NO LONGER AT TAKODA as they are closing down. So we are now camping at the HOWATH FARM campsite, Skyreholme, Appletreewick, Skipton, North Yorkshire BD23 6DE. Undeveloped and retaining its 1970s charm. £7ppn. Within walking distance are two excellent county pubs close to one another serving real ale and food. There are also many interesting sites close by including Bolton Abbey.
Please advise people who you think may be going but don’t have internet access.

Unfortunately the farm (including us campers) no longer have access to the washing and cooking facilities in the Community center as previously stated. So the site in the words of the campsite owner “its a basic campsite with an Eco-loo (composting toilet), washing up sink with drinking water and a field with beautiful views”: see Askrigg Camping website. This may not suit everyone, however some like basic camping and it it gets full on bank holidays, As our camp is the week after the BH we should have a field mostly to ourselves. Still £5ppn. Chap who I work with is selling a sidecar. It was fitted to an ETZ250 which was sold some time ago. The front coupling is held in place via a bolt going down through the headstock and not under the tank so it may be possible to fit it to other bikes i.e. a super 5 etc in the same way. From his description it seems like a velorex with larger 18 inch sidecar wheel and adjustable mounts as opposed to the Squire that had a smaller 14 inch sidecar wheel and not very adjustable mounts. I think he will take £150 but you need to see it for yourself and sort the price with him. The sidecar is located in Huddersfield and anyone who is interested can call him on 07814 117724.
