END June 2012. 29 June - 1 July (date now confirmed) North Wales & Cheshire MZRC 7th Carrog Rally. North Wales. The largest MZ camping rally of the year (other than the AGM) will be in its 7th year in 2012. (40 visitors in 2008, 84 in 2009, 86 in 2010 and 135 in 2011). In the large field right by the Choo choo station. Rather than remember the date, it’s the last weekend in June, every year. (2012 date TBCF because the very last weekend in June 2012 includes 1 July, so it may be the w/e before) Please camp in the half of the field by the station as occasionally some groups use the river side of the field. Station Campsite, Carrog North Wales. Less than ½ mile from main A5 between Corwen and Llangollen www.stationcampsite.com Section Organisers onsite Thursday mid-day. Early arrivals welcome. Speak to the site owner if you do arrive very early because we camp in the large side field right by the station. (i.e. same field as 2007, 2010 & 2011 not same as 2008 or 2009) Twist drill sharpening and metal polishing demos seem to have lost interest so won’t happen unless I get emails (well in advance) requesting I do it, if anyone wants to watch/be educated. Ride-out on Saturday to somewhere (perhaps). Beddgelert to visit the famous dog’s grave? or to a Slate Mine? or wherever. A virtual mystery tour. In 2011 Paul Mason rebuilt a spoked wheel on Sat morning so we may try to get him to do that again. Please ask nicely now. Pub, the Grouse Inn (good food & real ale) 5 min walk away. Poo Sticks Bridge ideal for PS competitions on the way to and from the pub. Llangollen Steam Railway, Carrog Station, 60 seconds away, yes 60 seconds away!!! Horseshoe Pass (essential viewing) 15 mins ride. Snowdonia 20-25 mins. Camping is prob £8 per tent/night TBC. Pay at MZ control, not the site owner, otherwise it gets very confusing. Don’t even think about sneaking in because the Thought Police know you are there!....ha ha ha.... Campervans and caravans please pay at the Site office/caravan. Electric hook ups in limited numbers so please book with site owner direct if you need electrickery. All others please pay on arrival at MZ control. And please sign in so we know how many arrive for awards etc. £2 for tea and coffee all weekend as much as you can drink, but please bring a mug. Proceeds go to charity. We hope to have bacon butties again Sat and Sun morn . No showers on the site (ming ming ming...) but reasonable loos and hot water. Flat grass. Amazing scenery. Badges, sweat and tee shirts on sale. Probably the largest number of raffle prizes of any MZ rally. People complain because there are too many raffle prizes! Top prizes in the past, angle grinder, stove etc. Loads of other useful stuff. 2012 will be even better . Following on from our motorcycle raffles (2009 ETZ250, the 2010 MZ ETZ251, and 2011 ES250/2 Trophy) the 1st raffle prize will be a Simson S51 of 1990 vintage with 3 miles on the clock. Yes THREE MILES from new. Tickets £1 only, available throughout the year, drawn Sat evening. Unlike previous years the raffle is being done “Clubwide”, not just by NWC section. Early leavers contacted by telephone if they have won. Collect the Simson at winner’s leisure. PLUS Awards for the usual farthest travelled, tale of woe, etc., not a crappy plastic trophy but a classy piece of kit to adorn your mantelpiece and useful (for bashing SWMBO! Ha ha). Contact: James Mather, Chairman MZRC james [at] zedcred dot co dot uk or 01352 732229 any reasonable time. Whatever you ride or drive, everyone is welcome. “Join the Club”. Jawa/CZ/Ural Cossack and any Eastern Block bike or car owners especially welcome. Griffin Sidecar Club and British Two Stroke Club members and friends most welcome. 2012 we have invited the IFA club so expect some interesting Eastern block cars, Trabants, Wartburgs and Barkas’ too (hopefully). Be there or be square.
July 2012 6th - 8th July Festival of 1000 Bikes at Mallory Park. A super weekend with lots going on on the track. Tea, coffee and cakes for all who attend. Free camping is available for all exhibitors. Contact June on 01455 274 165 after 7 o/clock please or email (address in MZR). Passes sent out when they arrive. Look forward to seeing you there.
13 -15 July. Jawa CZ Club National Rally and AGM 2012 Cross Keys at Pulloxhill. 13 High Street, Pulloxhill, Bedfordshire, MK45 5HB It is a traditional small pub dating back to 1620 and Peter and Sheila who run it have been there since 1970. Full range of food which is reasonably priced and delicious. Breakfast £6, can be provided but we have to submit orders in advance both to ensure the food and to arrange the staffing. Pint of beer £2-90, large red wine £3-30p. Filter coffee £1-10p. Mid July so we are hoping for great weather. At the rear of the pub, with access off the car park is a camping field that is registered with the Caravan Club, so it is flat, well cared for and a good size. We will have exclusive use 13-15th. We plan to have a marquee adjacent to the pub building and our own toilet block on the rally field. We may also arrange a buffet for Saturday night depending on demand. It will be important for members to pre-book even if paying at the gate. Prices have yet to be fixed but camping is £3 a night with a caravan/van costing £5 a night. Visitors can arrive on Thursday and leave on Monday and fees must be paid at Rally Control not to the pub. Final cost will depend on the other expenses including rally badges. Bedfordshire has many local attractions. Gary will delight in showing to us. Info will be on the JCZ website and in Torque as finalised.

There is a local shop/ garage in the village. There will be free tea and coffee all weekend and a raffle, so any donation of a prize would be appreciated. East European “Red Star” rally 23rd to 27 August 2012. Held only every 4 years at... Kibworth Rugby Club, Market Harborough (Don’t go to Kibworth or you will be 20 miles away, although I understand that due to years of confusion, the club has now changed its name to MHRC!!). It’s right by MH leisure centre which is well sign posted although the signs at the Leisure Centre do say “Football Club”. A great venue which many members have visited before and which welcomes bike clubs. A Rugby field? It’s more like a bowling green, seriously. Good food and good beer on site. Town centre 15 mins walk. It was where the MZRC was held in 2011 and the last East European/Red Star Rally was held in 2008. It’s so good, we are going again! Big raffle, ride-out, prizes, etc. Over 200 came to the last EERSR in 2008 including many overseas visitors. NEW NEW NEW for 2012 we have invited the IFA club so expect some interesting Eastern block cars, Trabants, Wartburgs and Barkas’ too (hopefully).
